Can you use an AI-generated mascot commercially?

What you own when you generate a mascot with MascotLab, what happens to it if you cancel, and the one question no AI tool can answer for you.

The short answer

Everything you generate here is yours, and you can use it commercially: in your app, your store listing, your marketing, your merchandise. There is nothing further to pay us and no attribution to give. Exporting and downloading is free and unmetered, which matters because a tool that generates cheaply and charges to download is charging you twice.

This page describes how MascotLab works. It is not legal advice, and the trademark section below is the part where the honest answer is more complicated than anyone would like.

What happens if you cancel

Nothing, to what you already made. A cancelled subscription stops future generation. It does not reach back and revoke a licence to work you have already exported and shipped.

This is worth checking wherever you generate brand assets, not only here. A mascot is not a one-off image: it ends up on your app icon, your onboarding, your store listing and your marketing. An asset whose licence depends on continuing to pay a monthly fee is a liability sitting at the centre of your brand, and it is not always obvious from the pricing page which kind you are buying.

Trademark is a separate question

Owning an image and being able to register it as a trademark are two different things, and this is where any AI tool that gives you a confident answer is overreaching.

Your character is generated fresh from your description rather than selected from a shared library, so it is not a copy of another customer's mascot. But no generator can guarantee a result is unlike everything else in the world, and we do not clear trademarks. We cannot tell you a character is free to register.

If a mascot is going to carry your brand, have a trademark search done before you commit to it. That search is yours to run, and responsibility for using the output is yours. This is not a formality: it is genuinely cheaper to do before a character is on your app icon than after.

What we do not do with your work

We do not train on your mascots. What you generate is your material, not input to a model that serves someone else's character next week.

You are also charged only for generations that succeed. A generation that fails leaves the credits in your balance, so a bad render costs you time rather than money.

What you cannot do

The one real limit is deliberate copies of characters, logos or trademarks belonging to someone else. Asking for a character that is recognisably another company's mascot is not something ownership of the output makes acceptable, and the responsibility for that request is yours rather than ours.
